My name is Katy Doherty and I am the artist and owner of KD Custom Jewelry. Firstly, please know I genuinely appreciate you taking the time to read about the inspiration and philosophy behind all of my unique creations. Thanks to my Mom, I grew up learning that art was boundless and everywhere. She encouraged my creative inspirations no matter how messy things got . Clay, crayons, sticks, feathers, markers, paint, stones, glue and scissors have been apart of my artistic arsenal for over 30 years; but three years ago I traded my paintbrush for pliers and fell in love with jewelry making . I put my heart into every piece of jewelry I make and I never re-create the same exact piece twice; giving everyone a one of a kind work of art.

Compassion and kindness are the motivating values that my small business is based on. Every gemstone and jewelry component used in my art I hand select from small local businesses to foster good relationships with fellow small business owners and encourage local economic growth. I conscientiously use eco friendly packaging and make giving back to the community a priority. 10% of my net profit is donated every month to local and global nonprofit organizations that are working towards curing diseases, keeping children safe and healthy, and preserving and protecting our environment. I strive to make my jewelry unique, beautiful and ethically sourced.
